About MOBILE FASTENERS, A short history.

Mobile Fasteners began in 1964 as a small pop rivet distributorship operated from the home of H. F. “Buddy” Beaman. Buddy, a native of Galveston, was a young man who had graduated from Ball High School in 1955 and from Texas A & M University in 1960. In 1966, the company had grown, so he moved it to a rented building in South Houston. By 1970, he had built an 8,000 square foot facility at 1509 Alabama Street. In 1972, Mobile Fasteners acquired Pac Fas. Mobile Fasteners is a full line, diversified distributor of fasteners, directed to selling to the industrial, construction, oilfield, and chemical industries. Pac Fas sells a specified line of packaged fasteners for resale. With the acquisition, Beaman formed a new company, Big H Corporation, with Mobile Fasteners and Pac Fas as fully owned subsidiaries.

 

The corporation has continued to expand. The facility was enlarged in 1974, 1976, and again in 1989. The buildings today encompass 82,000 square feet—more than ten times the original size. We are still in our original location at Alabama Street and Washington Avenue in South Houston.

 

Big H Corporation employs 55 people, many of whom have been with the company for more than 15 years. The average period of employment for all employees is nine years. Our company has hired and retained the best office personnel and sales people in the industry who have found a permanent home with Big H Corporation.

 

The business is still family owned. The officers of the corporation are: H. F. Beaman, President and CEO and Josie Beaman, Secretary and Treasurer. The corporation is chartered in the state of Texas and has Dunn and Bradstreet rating of 3A1. We operate with a zero debt ratio. Big H Corporation carries a general aggregate insurance umbrella policy, including, but not limited to, product liability.
